VIKING MIDGET GAS KINGS ARE PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONS

Viking’s Dee Jay Plumbing Gas Kings earned the title of Midget B Provincial Champions this past weekend in Ponoka, the first Midget Boys’ team to win a provincial championship since the 1970s.

    The team played Ponoka first on Thursday after the opening ceremonies, a game which ended in a tie. Following this they competed against Westlock, winning six goals to one.

    In a hard-fought game against Vermilion on Saturday the team came up just short, with a score of four to three.

In their semi-final game against Rimbey Sunday morning they battled to a five-two finish. That afternoon they got their chance for redemption against Vermilion, their sights set on gold… for more see the March 24/15 Weekly Review
