Wilderness and teamwork skills learned on Viking School class camping trip

   Viking School’s Grade 6 class spent four days in the wilderness learning about wildlife, teamwork, and friendship during their trip to Camp Evergreen.

The class, along with teachers Philip Brick and Trudy Josephison, as well as some volunteer parent supervisors, left for the camp, located just south of Sundre, on May 23 and returned home on May 26. They all brought sleeping bags and pillows with them and camped out in cabins in the woods.

    Three of the students, Tanner Brooke, Jessie Lentz, and Denise Schmaus, spoke excitedly about all of the activities they participated in at the camp.

The students were involved in a variety of outdoors activities designed to teach them about the outdoors and foster team-building skills. These included canoeing, horseback riding, rock wall climbing, ziplining, a ropes course, survival skills, and more.
