Word on the Street: Viking RCMP report

On Oct. 5 police received a complaint of a vehicle passing a wide load when unsafe to do so.

The suspect vehicle was passing the line of vehicles that were following a wide load causing vehicles travelling in the opposite direction to enter the ditch. The 63 year old female driver of the suspect vehicle was spoken to and admitted to passing.

On Oct. 6 police assisted Viking Fire and Rescue with a vehicle fire at a rural location. The fire was determined to have been caused by straw under the exhaust, the fire was extinguished however the vehicle was destroyed.

On Oct. 7 police received a complaint from Child and Family Services advising of a possible assault on a minor. The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
