Word on the Street: Viking RCMP report Horse tack stolen north of town

On Dec. 5, police received a complaint of an abandoned vehicle on 51st Avenue in Viking. Police were unable to contact the registered owner so had the vehicle towed as it was a potential traffic hazard.

Later that day, police were advised of a break and enter and theft at a rural property north of Viking that had occurred the previous week. The complainant advised culprits had broken into his tool shed and stole horse tack and various tools. Police have no suspects at this time.

That night, police received a complaint of a traffic hazard on Highway 14, west of Viking. The complainant advised there was a vehicle parked on the side of the highway with no lights making it difficult to see. Police attended but the vehicle was gone on arrival.

On Dec. 7, police were advised of a two vehicle collision in the parking lot of a local business.

A parked vehicle that was left running somehow slipped into reverse, causing it to become mobile and strike another parked vehicle. Neither driver was in their vehicle…
