VIKING HEALTH FOUNDATION LEADS HELIPAD DRIVE

STARS

The Viking Health Foundation is leading the drive to raise funds to build a new helipad to accommodate the STARS fleet of AW139 helicopters and is looking to the public for support.

The AW139 medically equipped helicopters serve to enhance access to emergency pre-hospital critical care through more rapid response, an expanded service area, a larger medical interior, more powerful lift capacity, and a de-icing system that will enable flight during adverse weather conditions.

This helicopter which was first introduced in Alberta in 2012,  ensures that patients, even those far away from a critical care centre, will receive the intensive medical care they need.

In a recent press release regarding the project, details of past work by the Viking Health Foundation was outlined.
