$20,000 Lottery Fund grant for museum
A grant from the Alberta government in the amount of $20,000 to be used to help preserve the history of Viking was announced just two days before Christmas.

Area Events create holiday atmosphere
From the very youngest to the more seasoned performers,
Last week saw the Christmas season get into full swing across the area with the annual elementary Christmas concert at Viking School on Thursday, followed by the sixth annual lights parade on Friday, Dec. 13 and events such as the Irma Santa Day taking place on Saturday.

Citizens on patrol seeking startup funding, good turnout
A total of nine volunteers turned out for the second meeting of a local Citizens on Patrol (C.O.P.) group which has been formed under the guidance of RCMP Constable Lindsay Williamson.
