The Viking Farmers’ Market is in serious danger of having to shut down in the near future. A lack of vendors and customers have put the traditional event in real jeopardy, says Farmer’s Market coordinator Evelyn Payne.
On June 5, police received a complaint of a theft that had occurred over the previous week at a rural property north of Bruce.
The complainant advised his riding lawn tractor had been stolen. This matter is still under investigation.

In an effort to replace Viking’s aging Eastview Park playground, the Town Council is considering pitches for the project, which include adding a splash park.
However, without a community partner, making the splash park plans a reality could prove very difficult.
