Patients of the Stollery Children’s hospital felt like they were in a fairy tale when Princess Belle from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast came to visit them on Feb. 21.

Word on the Street
On Wednesday, March 14, police responded to a traffic incident west of Viking.
An eastbound semi tractor unit had a trailer tire blow causing debris to hit two oncoming vehicles, which caused damage to them. A collision report was completed and all vehicles were allowed to carry on their way.

Bracelets for Evan
It is hoped that hundreds of the orange silicone bracelets shown below will be worn by everyone in Viking in support of Evan and her fight against cancer.

Irma Midget Aces win Provincial gold
The Irma Midget Aces are Provincial champions and according to Coach Brent Fischer, “we raise’em here to play hockey.”

Spring weather for Winter Carnival
Despite a lack of snow Viking School students had fun at the Winter Carnival. Elementary students took part in a variety of games.
Activities included jump rope, snowman building, dodgeball, soccer and more.

Irma’s Reagan Fischer on All Ivy second team
Irma’s Reagan Fischer has been named to the second team of the All-Ivy teams at Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire.
Dartmouth’s 34 varsity sports teams compete in the Ivy League conference of the NCAA Division I.

Bone marrow match found for Evan
After four year old Evan Wallace spent four-and-a-half months in the Stollery Children’s Hospital waiting for a bone marrow match to be confirmed, the news that her family, along with their extended family, friends, and community have been waiting for has arrived.
“We knew we had a strong possible match before Christmas, and then a week after the New Year we were told we had two.
