Vikings coming to streets for festival
If your taxes aren’t up to date, it may be wise to find the tax collector before he finds you this June when he visits.
Vikings really will be in the streets during the second annual Vikings in the Streets Festival, to be held on June 22, 23, and 24 when Odin’s Ravens, the Viking age reenactment group come to town, and they are bringing the tax collector with them.
Police Prepare for 2-4 Blitz
Police are bracing for the upcoming long weekend, which historically has been a deadly time.
Not just the roadways, but waterways have been areas of heartbreak to the families of those who say they don’t need to wear a lifejacket.
House Calls Project Proves Rewarding
The Energysmart Viking House Calls Project, which ran in Viking recently, was both highly successful and very rewarding according to Sustainability Project coordinator, Brian Rozmahel.
“It was a great project because it engaged a large number of citizens and businesses in town,” he says.
Rural Sustainability Contract is Extended
After its beginning in May, 2010, Brian Roz-mahel’s contract as Rural Sustainability Develop-ment Officer for the Town of Viking was slated to end this past April 30.
However, this has been extended to the end of September so that the $436,000 federal grant may be wrapped by further promoting the conservation village project.
