Word on the Street
On April 9 police received a complaint of a stolen bicycle. The complainant advised his bicycle had been re-moved from his backyard but he later located it down his back alley. If anyone has information regarding this theft, they are asked to contact police.

On April 11 a citizen attended the detachment to report that unknown subjects had removed the valve caps and valve cores from all four tires on his work truck, leaving him with four flat tires.

School vote
In coordination with the April 23 Provincial election Viking School will be holding its own election.
On April 20 students from Grades 6 to 12 will vote for one of the candidates running in the Vermilion-Lloydminster riding. More than 150 students are expected to vote.

Walking Way of the Cross

The Viking Knights of Columbus hosted the annual Walking Way of the Cross on Good Friday, April 6.
Participates gathered at the Catholic Church in Viking which served as the first and last station.

Council vows to get serious with Carena
Viking town council voted April 2 at its regular council meeting to inform Beaver County that it is on board with memorandum of understanding attached to the release of funds by the County for the Carena Complex.
In addition to accepting the conditions in the memorandum, Viking council members vowed to immediately, “get serious” about finding management for the Carena Complex and working towards putting the facility to full use throughout the year.
