Wash hands to prevent flu from spreading

While Alberta Health Services (AHS) has named this year’s vaccination campaign, “one of the most successful in our province’s history”, it has also announced the influenza vaccine is no longer available in Central Zone and urges Albertans to practice
what it is calling, “preventative precautions.”

Flu shots are available in Viking at the Health Centre at 5224-50 Street, Viking, free of charge.
   
    With Alberta Health Services warning that there have been 965 lab-confirmed cases of influenza in Alberta as of the start of the new year, hundreds of Albertans are lining up to get immunized.

    Last week saw the Christmas season get into full swing across the area with the annual elementary Christmas concert at Viking School on Thursday, followed by the sixth annual lights parade on Friday, Dec. 13 and events such as the Irma Santa Day taking place on Saturday.
