SECOND WORLD WAR VETERANS HONOURED

    Leon Benoit, Member of Parliament for Vegreville-Wainwright, on behalf of Erin O’Toole, Minister of Veterans Affairs,  hosted two ceremonies at Viking Vialta Lodge and Viking Extendicare on Tuesday, Feb. 10, recognizing Canadian Veterans of the Second World War in honour of the 75th anniversary of Canada’s participation in the conflict.

    Among their family, friends and community, local Second World War Veterans were presented with a commemorative lapel pin and certificate of recognition in honour of the extraordinary role Canadians played in the Allied victory.

    The recipients were:

    Lloyd Victor Gedge – Holden Legion, Joyce M. Hafso of Viking, Doris L. Jolicoeur Davies  with the Vegreville Legion, Louise Crossland Mihill of Viking, W. Don Place – Viking, George Henry Schnyder of Daysland Legion, and Alexander E. Thomson of Viking.
