Scott Woods Band presents Fiddlin’ Around at auxiliary fundraiser

The Scott Woods Band came to the Kinsella Community Hall Monday night to provide an evening of great fiddling and other musical genres for some toe tapping fun.

It was all in the cause of a fundraiser for the Viking Health Care Auxiliary to purchase a Holter Monitor for the Viking Health Centre.

Scott Woods was the headliner with backup from four other talented and excellent musicians. Steve Piticco played a skilled guitar and provided backup vocals. Kendra (Woods) Norris, a champion fiddler in her own right, did backup piano and vocals and a very decent Minnie Pearl impression.

Naomi Bristow, only 21, has recorded with Nashville stars like Vince Gill and Bill Anderson. She played guitar all night but also did her own beautiful songs including gospel and her yodelling was pitch perfect – something she also performed at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. She inspired with “Coat of Many Colours,” and “How Great Thou Art.”

The youngster of the band was 14-year-old Leo Stock, also multi-talented on drums and fiddle, who could also step dance and sing.

All together they provided a great evening of music, jokes, and fun antics. That included a show stopping finale of demos by Woods on how to play a fiddle in various positions from laying on the floor to playing while doing a full body flip onstage.
