Richard Starke leadership campaign gaining momentum
After officially filing his nomination forms for the Alberta PC leadership on Nov. 4, Richard Starke, MLA for Vermilion-Lloydminster, held a “Rally 4 Richard” over the weekend in Lloydminster.
There, Starke talked briefly about some of the issues Alberta farmers are having with this year’s late harvest, saying that some have been in touch with him to pledge their support, but to let him know they would not be attending his rally.
He said he completely understands; “I will always support someone who will support harvest over politics,” he said.
Starke also talked about the importance of youth engagement, telling supporters, “As adults, engaging youth is one of our jobs.”
Starke talked about how much his parents valued living in a free, democratic country as he was growing up, and said that they had instilled that value in him, and taught him, “It is your civic duty to get involved in your community, and it is your civic duty to get involved with the political process.” … FOR MORE SEE THE NOV 15/16 WEEKLY REVIEW
