No Bibles in BRSD schools simply a legal issue according to the Super

A Viking Christian group which is wondering why Gideon Bibles are no longer distributed in area schools…
can know that the decision to stop the distribution was made to avoid any possible legal action.

     The distribution of Gideon bibles ended two years ago in Battle River School Division (BRSD)  because it was found that allowing religious materials to be handed out was leaving the school division vulnerable to various legal ramifications.

    In the words of Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Larry Payne, “for the school division, the question is not one of supporting or opposing religion.

We have ultimate respect for parents’ right to guide their children in making the links to whatever religion the parents think is appropriate.”
