Dust not smoke at Providence Grain last week

If you were wondering why plumes of what looked like smoke were coming from the direction of Providence Grain last week, it had to do with the fact that it is harvest time.

    Dan Choromiec, Senior Grain Procurement Manager with Providence Grain, said the ‘smoke’ was actually a cloud of dust which resulted a load of peas was being delivery to the facility.

    “The truth is, peas are inherently dusty and on that particular day, a wind from the southwest caught the dust when the load was being deposited and sent a massive dust cloud into the air,” he said.
