Lloydminster RCMP charge male for theft of over $57k in fuel
Back in March of 2024, Lloydminster RCMP received a report of a Fraud involving a fuel card stolen from a business in Lloydminster. Lloydminster RCMP General Investigation Section initiated an investigation and determined that an individual used the fuel card to steal $57,969.55 worth of diesel fuel from throughout the province of Alberta.
The male then sold the fuel at a discounted price.
As a result of the investigation, Kenton John Wotherspoon, resident of Success, Saskatchewan was recently charged with the following:
- Theft Under $5000 x8
- Theft Over $5000 x2
- Unlawful Use of a Credit Card x10
- Trafficking in Stolen Property x3
- Theft of Fuel Card contrary
Wotherspoon was held for a Judicial Interim Release Hearing and was released. He is to appear next on November 5, 2024, at the Lloydminster Provincial Court in Alberta.
