Bonnyville RCMP charge teacher with sexual offences
Bonnyville RCMP have charged a teacher from Duclos School with sexual offences.
On September 5, 2024, Bonnyville RCMP were contacted by a concerned parent regarding inappropriate contact with a student by a teacher. Officers were advised that at the end of August, the teacher had allegedly sexually assaulted the student and paid the student money in hopes that they would not disclose the incident.
On September 6, 2024, following our investigation, Bonnyville RCMP arrested Janelle Arnold, a 35-year-old resident of Bonnyville.
Janelle has been charged with the following offences:
- Sexual Assault
- Sexual Interference
Janelle Arnold was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was released on a release order with conditions. She is scheduled to appear in court on October 1, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Bonnyville.
The victim is not a current student of Duclos School or Janelle Arnold.
