Viking Auxiliary donates equipment to health centre

Pictured above, from left: auxiliary members presenting the equipment Donna Congdon, Karen Coloumbe, Dorothy White, and Phyllis Lefsrud; and, accepting the equipment are RN Cara Holt and Health Centre Manager Sharon Burden.

Viking Health Centre Auxiliary has donated two pieces of equipment to the Viking Health Centre.

The Capnography instrument monitors the concentration of carbon dioxide in an exhaled breath; this helps assess ventilation. It is used in infants, children and adults. In the photograph to the left, Sharon Burden (far right) is holding the Capnography, a component which is added to the Space Lab Monitor which was purchased by the Health Foundation.

The Auxiliary and Health Foundation sometimes work together to provide equipment to the Health Centre.

The Bili Metre, held by RN Cara Holt (second from right) in the photo, measures light emissions from a Photo Therapy System.

The measurement is a quality control check to ensure photo therapy equipment is functioning properly.
