Viking Valhalla Music Club performs at Shuter Tribute
Viking School’s Valhalla Music Club, including local band, Last Minute, performed on Saturday, March 4 at the Shuter Tribute Fundraiser at the Camrose Regional Exhibition and according to the Viking musicians, it went well and was a lot of fun.
Viking School Principal Adam Madsen said three different groups performed a variety of rock, country, and pop music at the event.

Iron Creek Community Centre donates funds from land sale
The Iron Creek Community Centre is pleased to present cheques to the Viking Museum for their milk wagon restoration project and to the Viking Walking Trail Committee for their highly anticipated trail project.
In recent years, our society has been challenged with dwindling numbers, making it difficult to adequately maintain the Iron Creek Community Centre and host our annual Farmer’s Day Picnic and Christmas Party events.
After several years of deliberations, we sadly closed the doors of our building this past fall.

Viking Vixens Sr. Girls basketball will head to Provincials
On March 10 and 11, the Viking Vixens Sr. Girls basketball team travelled to Eckville to compete at the Central Zone tournament where they earned Silver medals and a berth into the 1A Provincial competition.
Viking’s first match came Friday evening against Caroline who were the seventh seed in the tournament. Caroline was a gritty, hardworking team that never quit.
The Vixens were seeded second at Zones and had to play smart to win the game 47-29.

As the hockey season wound down, Irma’s own Cassidy Holt, current captain of the Olds College Broncos women’s hockey team, and notably, the first ever captain of this recently conceived Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) team, graciously offered her time to The Weekly Review to recap some of the highlights of her college hockey career so far.
