Seniors outnumber kids by more than double in Viking
Canadian seniors (age 65 plus) outnumber kids (age 14 and under) for the first time in Canada, according to Census 2016.

Viking and Holden 4-H hold achievement days
The Viking 4-H Beef Club held their 73rd annual Achievement Day on April 30 at the Holden Arena.
Members of the club brought their projects to the arena to be judged in the areas of Confirmation, Grooming, and Showmanship. They were also evaluated on their Judging abilities by filling out judging cards for their peers’ projects

Word on the Street: Viking RCMP report impaired driving and stolen vehicle
Just after midnight on April 24, police came upon a vehicle with its engine running parked on an approach along Highway 26 southwest of Viking.
Police conducted checks on the driver and she was found to be intoxicated. Open alcohol was also located in the vehicle.
