RCMP and COPS initiate fall ticket theft prevention awareness campaign

An annual campaign to try and increase the awareness of residents to the dangers of not securing property and personal possessions was held on Thursday, Oct. 5.

Cst. Cory Tourand with the Viking RCMP partnered with Viking Citizens on Patrol to bring awareness to citizens of Viking about the need for theft prevention.

“Police have dealt with numerous property crime related matters over the summer, and have noticed a certain level of complacency when it comes to protecting one’s personal property,” said Cst. Tourand.

“In an effort to break these habits, I along with local COP members patrolled certain areas of Viking and handed out posters with tips on things you can do to prevent criminals from targeting your property and keeping your property safe.”…
