Viking Grade 7 class collects 405.5 lbs of batteries for recycling

This is the amount of batteries the students of Viking School brought in to Mr. Samson’s grade 7 Science class. The class entered a Nation Wide competition sponsored by Call2Recycle and Earth Day Canada for a chance to win $1,500 for the Junior High Science Program.

On Nov. 1, police were advised of an attempted fraud using the “Grandparent” scam.

The complainant received a phone call from an unknown person claiming to be their “oldest grandson.” When the complainant questioned this, the call was disconnected.

Kinsella ranchers inducted into Alberta Angus Hall of Fame

angus-bill-and-hjordis Bill and Hjordis Armitage of Angus Acres, located just north of Kinsella, have been inducted into the Alberta Angus Association (AAA) Angus Hall of Fame.

On Aug. 11, the Armitage’s along with various family members attended the AAA annual banquet in Calgary, where they were officially inducted into the hall of fame, which is located in Balzac, Alberta.

On Oct. 24, police received a complaint of a vehicle speeding through a construction zone on Highway 36.

The complainant was able to provide a license plate number so the registered owner was contacted by police.
