Viking Grade 7 class collects 405.5 lbs of batteries for recycling

This is the amount of batteries the students of Viking School brought in to Mr. Samson’s grade 7 Science class. The class entered a Nation Wide competition sponsored by Call2Recycle and Earth Day Canada for a chance to win $1,500 for the Junior High Science Program.

To do this, the Science 7 class challenged all classes in the school to bring in as many recycled batteries within the frame of one week, with the top two classes winning either pizza or cake/ice cream for their class.
