Irma School Awards Night presents special new award
Irma School hosted its annual Awards Night on Friday, Oct. 28. Many students were presented with awards honouring their academic successes and community contributions.
Special attention was given to a new award, given out for the first time this year. The Alex Heimdal Kind Heart Award was made in memory of the three year old by his family.
The award is designated to a Grade 5 student who demonstrates great friendship skills, a caring nature, determination, and above all, a way of spreading happiness and love to those around them, as these are the qualities Alex admired in others.
The award was presented to Hayden Lawson. Alex’s mother, Stacey Heimdal, had this to say about Lawson: “Miss Corinne had sent us some pictures of you and Alex playing together at school.
