Science students collecting dead batteries for contest

Viking School’s Grade 7 Science class is looking for dead batteries.

The class, under the guidance of Science teacher Richard Samson, has entered a contest sponsored by Earth Day Canada and Call2Recycle.

They have the chance to win $1,500 for the Jr. High Science program if they can collect enough batteries to recycle this week.

Samson noted that the competition is a “one week blitz” happening from Oct. 17 to 21, so there’s only a short time for students to collect the batteries.
