Weekly Review reporter explores Australia with friends
Almost exactly two weeks ago I returned from my amazing month-long trip to Australia with my two best friends.
It seems like only yesterday I was at the Edmonton Airport preparing for the longest flight I have ever taken: 14 hours from Vancouver to Sydney.
The flight may have been long and exhausting, but it was definitely worth it.
My travel partner Lexi Maxwell and I were greeted in the Sydney airport by Karyssa Arnett who attends the University of New South Wales there. It was an emotional greeting, as we were seeing our best friend for the first time since last Christmas.
My first lesson about Australia: it isn’t always warm there. July is their winter, and though it isn’t nearly as cold as Canadian winters, the temperature got down to 10 degrees at night and the day was only about 16.
