Water use restriction issued for Viking

    Strathcona County, who supplies water to the town of Viking, has issued a water restriction for their service area.

    The restriction is in place until further notice.

    High rainfall levels in the area have increased debris in the North Saskatchewan River watershed, and have also increased turbidity levels of the flowing water.

    These issues have slowed the rate of water production, which can no longer keep up with the demands for all of the areas serviced by the watershed.
