Sidewalk upgrades not in immediate plans for Viking

  The news that the Town of Viking received funding for a new paved walking path caused concern among some residents over the state of existing sidewalks.

    The construction of a new walking path seems unnecessary to some who are unhappy with deteriorating sidewalks along Viking streets.

    Acting CAO Allen Harvey noted that he understands the concerns, but there is no immediate project lined up for sidewalk repair around Viking.

    “There is a wish of Council to proceed with sidewalk upgrades,” he said.

    Harvey added that much of his time and effort on infrastructure projects has been devoted to the 619 project as of late.
