Ruzicka family continues winning tradition showing horses

    Showing horses has long been a part of the Ruzicka family tradition and trade, and this year the family has experienced continued success in the ring during their summer circuit.

    Gordon Ruzicka and daughters Nicole and Halley began their show circuit in Olds, where Nicole won first in Ladies’ cart, they were awarded reserve champion gelding, and Gordon drove to a first place in the mare cart category and second in the unicorn hitch class.

    Following this, the family competed in the Calgary Stampede Heavy Horse show, from July 7 to 12.

    The family brought three of their own horses and four horses belonging to Bill and Linda Newton of Farmington, British Columbia. Here once again, their efforts in the barn and show ring were… for more see the July 26/16 Weekly Review
