Viking Council looking forward to strategic planning

Viking Council members met during their regular meeting on Monday, June 20.

A delegation from Beaver Municipal Solutions was welcomed, along with funds promised earlier in the year. Council has not yet determined whether these funds will be put into operations, or used elsewhere.

Council met on May 26 at a special meeting to review the 2015 municipal audit and 2016 budget.

At that meeting, they asked Interim CAO Allan Harvey to look into developing a purchasing policy for the town, as well as to provide Council with a draft employee-use of town equipment policy.

As well, Council has instructed administration to develop a sidewalk replacement plan for review, and an equipment replacement plan.
