CELEBRATION TO HONOUR NEW RESTING PLACE OF ABORIGINAL YOUTH AFTER REMAINS FOUND NEAR VIKING
This summer a celebration is planned on the Rozmahel land to honour the aboriginal youth whose remains were found on the farm August of last year.
Brian Rozmahel said the members of the Maskwacis First Nation are planning to hold a celebration to which the community will be invited.
“I am not sure of the exact date, but I believe it may be sometime in June,” he said.
The human remains were found Aug. 26/15 on the Rozmahel farm by Brian Rozmahel as he was checking his crops. At that time he said he noticed a badger mound next to what he first took to be a larger rock.
“It was a normal day. I saw the badger mound and next to it a larger rock which I went to pick up,” he said.
