Word on the Street: Viking RCMP report

On Feb. 8 police received a complaint regarding the rate of speed that vehicles are travelling during the school hours. The public is reminded that the Provincial Standard for School zones is 8:00 AM – 9:30 AM, 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM, unless otherwise posted.

Please slow down and keep the children attending school safe.

On Feb. 12 police received a complaint of fraud.

The caller was obtaining a loan via the internet and has since paid money to have the insurance in place for the loan, however has not received any money for the loan. This matter is still under investigation.

When obtaining anything over the internet, it is best to research the site and checking with places like the Better Business Bureau before making any purchases.
