VIKING FIDDLE FESTIVAL DRAWS TO CLOSE

Even before the last sweet sounds of fiddling echoed through the Community Centre on Saturday, there were rumours swirling that the popular Fiddle Fest may live to play another day.

Although nothing definite has been arranged there is talk that at least one area group is considering taking over the event.

A couple weeks ago the Viking Health Centre Auxiliary announced this year’s Old Time Fiddle Festival would be the final such festival sponsored by the local auxiliary.

Dorothy White, who is credited with initiating the festival, said that if anyone is interested in sponsoring the fiddle festival, she would be most willing to assist in anyway she can.
