2015 Poppy Campaign
The 2015 Poppy Campaign is now under way. To start this year’s campaign in Viking, Veteran Don Place of the Royal Canadian Legion, Viking, Branch #81, pinned a poppy on Kevin Fornal who is Beaver County Paramedic Team Lead and Fire Chief of the Viking Volunteer Fire Department. In 2014 the Royal Canadian Legion, Viking, Branch # 81 raised $2803.15 through the Poppy donations. Out of the monies raised $251.42 paid for wreaths and poppies. A total of $570.00 was used for prizes for school students in the Poem, Poster, Essay contest and $500. was donated to the Sea Cadet Corps at Holden. The remainder of the money is held in trust for use as defined by the Provincial and Dominion Legion Commands. The Viking Legion along with all Legions would like to thank everyone for the on-going support of the Poppy Campaign.
