PC SORENSON RE-ELECTED IN LANDSLIDE: Liberals win Majority
Kevin Sorenson was re-elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the riding of Battle River-Crowfoot in Monday’s federal election.
He won the riding by a sizeable margin, picking up 47,650 votes, good for 81 per cent, just a small amount behind his personal best in 2011.
Sorenson has been the MP for the Crowfoot riding for the past 15 years and now will serve the new riding of Battle River-Crowfoot.
From 2000 to 2004, Sorenson was the MP for this area. In 2004 the boundaries were redrawn creating the Vegreville-Wainwright riding, of which Leon Benoit was the local representative. This year, the boundaries were again changed and Wainwright is now part of the newly formed Battle River-Crowfoot riding.
