TRIBUTE PAID TO BELOVED IRMA TEACHER
On Thursday, May 7, Irma community members of all ages gathered to pay tribute to beloved teacher Sheldon Frissell, who has announced his impending retirement at the end of the school year.
Students and staff at Irma School decided there was no better time to honour him than at the Irma Band Spring Concert, which marked the 345th concert conducted by Frissell during his 31 years of teaching at Irma School.
They surprised him by taking the opportunity to share fond memories, tell some entertaining jokes, and bestow him with parting gifts.
And to be sure, there were many surprises. Some highlights of the evening included a slideshow of school photos in which Frissell had dressed in costume as well as a special “blast from the past.”
