Town offices moving to Carena

Although no final cost is known, the Viking town offices will be moving to the Carena Complex in the new year.

    According to Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Jackie Fenton, while work is needed to accommodate the move, the over all cost of the move will be finalized in January when the operating budget is discussed.

    She said town council has definitely decided to make the move.

    Viking Town Council first looked into the possibility of moving the town office into the Carena Complex in mid-September.

    The issue was discussed during an in-camera meeting which took place immediately following the regular council meeting Monday, Sept. 15. At that time, a motion was made by council instructing CAO Fenton to look into the cost of relocating the town office.
