LOCAL MLA Starke NOT NAMED TO CABINET

Viking’s MLA, Dr. Richard Starke was not named part of the new Alberta Cabinet yesterday.

Monday, Sept 15, in a ceremony at Government House after being sworn in as Alberta’s 16th premier, Premier Jim Prentice introduced his new Cabinet of 16 ministers and three associate ministers.

Maureen Kubinec MLA for Barrhead-Morinville-Westlock, was named Minister of Culture and Tourism for Alberta, a position which merges the former separate departments of Tourism, Parks and Recreation (which was held by Dr. Starke)  with Culture.

The new reduced Cabinet also saw two unelected members given posts…
