WORD ON THE STREET: Viking RCMP report
On August 18, police responded to a single vehicle rollover involving a gravel truck and trailer on Secondary Highway 870.
The driver of the tractor trailer unit lost control of the vehicle, entered the ditch and rolled, causing the load of gravel to spill both in the ditch and across the highway. Fortunately, no injuries were incurred however a violation ticket for Sec. 115(2) (b) TSA was issued to the driver.

That evening, police received a complaint of a theft in Viking.
The complainant advised she had just noticed the licence plate on a vehicle she had parked behind her residence was missing. There were no witnesses or evidence at the scene.

On August 19, police received a complaint of a theft that had occurred in the parking lot at a business in Viking. The complainant advised he had left a plastic bag containing DVDs hanging on his bike handle while he went into the business and when he returned, the bag was missing. Police obtained information that a white male with short dark hair and short whiskers wearing a dark jacket and ball cap had departed the business just before the complainant. He was riding a white bicycle and was last seen eastbound on 53rd Avenue. If anyone has information regarding this theft, they are asked to contact police….
