Rain and wind shorten Kinsella Bullarama: Safety a concern
Rain, dark skies, strong winds and lightning culminated in the cancellation of the Kinsella Bullarama short go on Wednesday, July 9.
Organizers decided to stop the event after the long go, where all 30 bull riders had the opportunity to get on one bull. The top scores from these rides were taken as the final standings, rather than having the top riders from that round ride again.
This decision was made with the safety of the crowd, animals and contestants in mind.
Beau Brooks earned the highest score, taking first place in the event, followed by Jordan Hansen in second and Tim Lipsett in third.
Until the event ended, the crowd enjoyed watching the action packed program which saw the bull riders and wild pony racers compete, all while keeping an eye on the sky.
