WORD ON THE STREET: Viking RCMP report

On June 2, a citizen attended the detachment to advise of a suspicious incident that had occurred the day prior.

Two males had driven into her farmyard in an older red Dodge Caravan and asked for directions to Viking.

They also started asking personal questions and then drove out of the yard without further incident.

    That night, police were dispatched to a 911 call from a female in distress.      When police arrived on scene, they learned a verbal altercation had taken place between the residents but no assault had occurred. 
    No charges were warranted in this instance.

    On June 3, police received a complaint of break and enter to a vehicle. 

    The complainant advised someone had entered the unlocked vehicle and gone through things but nothing appeared to be missing. 
    Police would like to remind the public to keep their parked vehicles locked and remove any keys so as not to be an easy target for would-be thieves.

    Later that morning, police received a second complaint of a vehicle being entered and gone through. 
    The complainant ad-vised a gas card and loose change was missing from the vehicle.  Both of these incidents are still under investigation.

    A short time later, police received a complaint of a break and enter to a garage.  Nothing appeared to be missing.
