Viking sign goes missing: removed to spruce up
If you were one of the many people who noticed the Viking sign, which is such a familiar sight on Highway 14, had disappeared for a short while, there is no need for concern.
The sign was taken down by town crews hauled away for a face-lift. The refurbished sign was returned to its original place on Friday, May 30.
Creative Sandblasting of Viking was responsible for bringing the sign back to life.
While the sign was gone, town crews were busy cleaning around the area, removing shrubs and creating a green space which council hopes will prove easier to keep trimmed… For more see the June 3/14 issue of the Viking Weekly Review
