Poor weather couldn’t dampen Vikings in the Streets’ spirits

    This past weekend saw large crowds brave the wind and rain to take in all the fourth annual Vikings in the Streets festival had to offer.

    The festivities kicked off with the chili cook-off on Friday night. The Judges’ Choice award was presented to Cargill Ltd. and the Peoples’ Choice award was presented to Hammers’ Gravel Supplies Ltd.

Pictured at at top right are Gurene Hammer, Melanie Fandrick, and Penny Hammer accepting their award from Lion member Clint Nearing. The award for Hottest Chili went to the Viking Lions. The cook-off raised $760 to be donated to the hospital’s cardiac telemetry fund.
