WWII veteran honoured by Viking Legion
On May 9 a supper was held at the Legion Hall to recognize Comrade Don Place for his dedication to the Viking Legion #81.
At that time Place was presented with a Legion Life Membership. As a World War II veteran and with 70 years of service with the Viking Legion, he has shown tremendous commitment to the Legion, the community, and the country of Canada.
Over the years he has been a very active members and still participates in Legion activities. On hand for the occasion were Place’s family and Legion Members.
During the evening they were entertained by many of his stories. The Viking Legion thanked him for his many years of service to their Legion branch.
