Starving cattle investigation continuing
Last week the Community Press, a sister paper to the Weekly Review, featured a story about an SPCA investigation regarding dead cattle found north of Killam (south of Viking).
The story relayed how area farmers had reported they had found 18 dead cattle near a fence separating their land from their neighbours’. According to farmers, the cows appeared to be starving.
A letter to the editor from a Community Press reader which also appeared in that paper last week, described how neighbours had called and offered help and were turned away.
The author of the letter defended the action taken by neighbours who witnessed the plight of the animals and called for all residents to stand together against the abuse of animals.
