Word on the Street: Viking RCMP report
On November 5th, police responded to a complaint of a jack-knifed semi south of Viking at the intersection of Highways 36 and 26. The driver advised he had attempted to turn around in the intersection and was in the process of backing up when the trailers entered the ditch. The driver was issued a violation ticket for Sec.33 UHRRR.

Viking to receive $41,000 in BMS funds
The distribution of $300,000 in surplus funds Beaver Municipal Solutions announced in February has received approval from The Minister of Municipal Affairs which means Viking will receive an estimated $41,000.

A number of questions concerning the Carena Complex, its concession, sound system and ice rental fees were discussed at the regular meeting of Viking Town council on Nov. 4.
Wild Rose Co-op expands
Wild Rose Co-op will be expanding its agricultural offering following the transfer in ownership of a former Viterra Inc. agri-products location from Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL).
Wild Rose Co-op recently announced it has taken over ownership and operation of the former Viterra site at the Viking location.
TransCanada speaks to Heartland pipeline concerns
In a letter thanking Viking town council for allowing TransCanada representatives to discuss the Heartland Pipe-line Project at a September council meeting, stated that Trans-Canada benefited from the discussion and was writing to address the concerns voiced by council members.
