Word on the Street: Viking RCMP report

On November 5th, police responded to a complaint of a jack-knifed semi south of Viking at the intersection of Highways 36 and 26.  The driver advised he had attempted to turn around in the intersection and was in the process of backing up when the trailers entered the ditch.  The driver was issued a violation ticket for Sec.33 UHRRR.

    On November 7th, a citizen attended the detachment to report his dog had been shot by unknown suspects. The dog survived but the owner had incurred a costly vet bill.   The information was passed on to Fish and Wildlife.

    On November 8th, police received a report of a cow that had been shot.  The owner advised he noticed tracks in his field and found a kill site of a deer nearby.  He had not given anyone permission to hunt on his land.  This information was also passed on to Fish and Wildlife.

    On November 12th, police received a complaint of trespassing on private property.  The complainant advised she had noticed tracks throughout her back yard and around her garbage cans.  Police will attempt to make patrols in the area.
