Local woman’s family okay after typhoon in Philippines
Flo Bascuric has a hard time holding back tears as she talks about her family caught in the typhoon which hit the Phillipines Friday, Nov. 8 and brought devastation which she says her family members there describe as beyond imagination.
Flo works at Viking’s Extendicare. She and her family moved to Canada from the Philippines in 1987.
For four long days following the typhoon, Flo and her sisters and their families, who all live in Canada, waited for word from their parents and their extended family living in the Philippines.
“They are alive. We have talked by phone on Thursday (Nov. 14).
