Viking, Bruce, Kinsella fire departments busy due to dry conditions/wind assisting fires

Extremely dry conditions and strong winds have resulted in area firefighters responding to a variety of fires in the district.

    Early last week, Tuesday, Sept. 24,  a fire at RR 125 and TWP 480, east of Viking  (above) saw three fire stations on scene.

    Regional Fire Chief and Regional Director of Emergency Management
Beaver Emergency Services Commission, Cindy Conroy, said firefighters from Bruce, Viking,  and Kinsella, responded to the Viking call and after three hours on the scene had the burn under control and turned the property back to the land owner.
